I went to the open mic at Kinga’s Lounge in Denver the other night. I signed up late and had to go up next to last. Unfortunately, I had to bare witness to the comedic “talents” of Vic G. If falling asleep at a bar is talent, this guy has it. If wearing a sparkly Jason Mraz hat is hilarious, this guy is a riot. If having a nasty pill and coke addiction is “it”, then this guy is going to the top (straight from the bottom). He got on stage and started drinking a beer that someone mistakenly left behind. If the Heineken bottle didn’t have Hep C before Vic G, it certainly did after he put his foul mouth on the rim.
However, what he did this night during his set was disgraceful. Vic walked off the stage with the mic and started harassing the two remaining audience members. Not only was he crassly provoking one of the gentleman by straddling his lap and defiling the air with his arrogance, he started in with homosexual come-ons as a way to instigate a fight. Vic G wasn’t entertaining. Usually, I’m not critical or overly agitated by a novice’s performance, but Vic G was terrorizing people. It wasn’t cool.
Just as a note to myself; Don’t be like Vic G. Don’t act like Vic G. Don’t do drugs like Vic G. Don’t forget why we’re on the stage like Vic G. Even at the amateur level, stage time is about entertaining not harassing. As if it wasn’t bad enough for the crowd that remained and the host of the show, I had to follow that. I wish I was the kind of guy who could rise to the occasion. The most consummate professional couldn’t rescue that train wreck. Next time you feel like getting to a mic, Vic, you should just stay home, drink some coffee and sober up. Your bad attitude makes us all look bad.

Well said! that guy sounds like a db that should lick a rats ass
He is a rat’s ass. I guess the old adage is true, you are what you eat.
Maybe if you were not a crap comic your self you would have got a better spot so you wouldn’t half 2 endure watching vic g (bye the way your crap comedy styling that can only be described as bland and boring with no free thought is a prime example of an amateur) .Why don’t you stop waving your hater flag . One more thing you talking about him on your faggy little blog just proves that vic g can inspire a reaction better than you can witch is the point of art witch ever facet it comes from .
It’s one thing to be a shitty comic at an amateur open mic. It’s another thing harass people that are out to see you perform. Vic G is crass and thoughtless. He’s a liability. The reaction he elicits from his peers is negative at best. He stands to get a warmer welcome in a prison shower.
Vic G has been around for years and just like any comic in the underground seen is gonna have his ups and downs. But it just seams like you are being a vindictive hater cause your not funny. i have seen you before at the lions lair and you had no mic confidence or presence looking for praise. I have seen him numerous times and as dumb as it sounds i will take dick and fart jokes over what you consider churched up “comedy”. People like you should worry about censoring the internet or something better. Really who makes you a authority on whats funny. You are whats bad for comedy. Also he has quite a fallowing and i found this lame blog when googling him not Aaron Lazlow… and “theboysclubformen.com” sounds like a place for gays. Your not funny and all your doing is giving him props with theses embarrassing elusive opinions of what you think is or isn’t appropriate for Denvers comedy scene. Your a idiot and way to suggest censorship on comedy. who are you Bill Cosby? well go have a a fucking pepsi and shove your opinions up your ass. Also i will do what i can to make sure people know about Aaron “censor comedy” Lazlo is all about.
I have seen video of this comic. It is not as you described. You probably know nothing of formal logic, but still I’ll point out that your argument is invalid. Ad Hominem attacks can never prove a point logically. . . fuckwit.
If what you say is true, that I am in fact not funny, it makes sense that I am at the end of the list. But for the “great artist” Vic G to be there beside me at the bottom after so many years on the underground scene only speaks to the strides he’s making as a performer. That is to say, he has made no strides in his years as a comic. I’m a hater toward Vic G because during the aforementioned event, Vic G violated the personal space of two audience members while instigating a fight. As a member of the comedy scene in Denver (and elsewhere), we all have a responsibility to respect the people coming to see us. When the audience member doesn’t like a joke, he can choose not to listen but, when the joke is sitting on his lap doing a Macho Man Randy Savage impersonation harassing him with homosexual come-ons and unwarranted aggression, the audience member has no choice but to take the abuse. Vic G essentially assaulted those people by taking away their right to ignore him and gave them the expectation that kind of thing happens at amateur open mic comedy shows. That’s an unfair expectation to set because it’s the exception.
While I may have lacked confidence on stage in the past, my ultimate goal has always been to get better and develop into a good comic. That is more than I can say for Vic G. He acts like things are getting worse. Some people may appreciate dick and fart jokes more than others but I would never consider what I represent “churched up comedy”. My opinion as to what is good comedy is far different that my opinion of what a good comedian is. I get to be an authority on the subject because I am an active participant in stand up comedy. Furthermore, what I am censoring here is not comedy but rather unlawful behavior. I don’t care what Vic G says because his actions do more than his words. Who cares about his act when his behavior was lewd and inappropriate.
Another thing: finding Vic G’s name on a website that I manage doesn’t say much for Vic G. I slammed him for acting like a dick and that’s what you stumbled across. The Boys Club for Men sounds like a place for gays because it is (why do you think you found it?). It’s also for anyone else who has an interest in my development as a comic and writer. The website is also meant for people who have an interest in learning more about amateur comedic opportunities in the Denver area. Please tell whomever you’d like what Aaron Lazlo is all about. I’m sure he’d appreciate it. Lastly, you’re not a very good speller.
Logic, smlogic. Ad Hominem is not a fallacy I committed. My argument is that Vic G acted like an idiot. I don’t want to act like an idiot. Therefore, I will not act like Vic G. When the argument is specifically about his character, it proves my conclusion just fine. The dude was being ridiculous. I protested. Get over it.
Ad Hominem still applies. If your point is soley about his character, then you are fine. However, you say that he is a bad comedian and only give his character flaws as an example. That is an Ad Hominem attact and therefore a spurious argument.
As far as comedy goes, quality is based on the character the comedian portrays on stage. The flaws he demonstrated were as a performer and not otherwise. Bad actor (i.e. hat, demeanor, sleepy, aggressive, mean spirit, foul breath stemming from a foul mouth and a foul mood, character, etc.) equals he’s a bad comic. Also, how are you so bad at spelling? I would say your rebuttal is fantastic if I didn’t have to decipher your fuck ups. Tell me you’re self taught…that would explain a lot.
There are no mistakes in spelling that I can see, and therefore nothing to decipher. I don’t understand at all unless you are confusing me with a previous poster. I do see a couple of typos, but nothing that would be obtuse or difficult to understand.
By the way, attacking a person’s spelling is also an ad hominem attack in this situation and contributes nothing to the conversation at hand.
One final thought. Regardless of your experience, nobody on earth has the authority to say what is and isn’t good comedy. I don’t, you don’t and vic g don’t. But I guess to you my argument is invalid because of poor grammar.
Comedy is subjective meaning everyone gets to decide what’s good or not. My opinion: Vic G is not good at comedy. I know you’ve seen his videos, but to get the full effect, you should come down to one of the dank pits we hang out and see him live. It’s a real treat in the way that giardia is a treat. I’m sure you’ll love it. By the way, thanks for frequenting my website so much. I appreciate it. Tell your friends!
