Supper Club – Pepper Pot Soup
My brother, Sean, found an article in Food & Wine Magazine about some cooks in Athens, Georgia called the FourCoursemen. These guys got together in their spare time and made unreal cuisine. They always focused on creating new recipes and they never repeated the same dish twice. They began serving their dishes to a small groups of invited guests and ever since, their popularity has grown.
In light of this discovery, Sean thought it would be a good idea for he and I and our other brother, Ryan, to get together and cook together for a “Supper Club”. None of us are professional bakers or chefs by any means, but we are looking to have some fun. We will honor the FourCoursemen’s style by focusing on creativity and spontaneity in our dishes.
To help get the ball rolling, we’ve decided to theme our dinner around holidays of the month. This month being December, there are many traditional and non-traditional holidays to choose from. In the spirit of “fun”, we are making Pepper Pot Soup to honor Pepper Pot Soup Day on December 29th. But who can wait? We are going to rock some PPS in my kitchen December 13th. Stay tuned.

Does Campbell’s really make tripe soup in a can?
Turns out Campbell’s does make Pepper Pot Soup and it does have tripe in it, and people LOVE it: Campbell’s Pepper Pot Soup, 10.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)
They certainly do…just don’t get suckered into that FMV (for maximum value) Pepper Pot Soup that they sell. Their tripe is all cat parts.
$40 for a case of PPS? That’s a lot of scratch. I’m sure I can make it for much cheaper and with even more sodium.
Hey!
Check out our website for menus, photos and more info!
Thanks for covering us (The FourCoursemen). We’re not all guys
Thanks for the post!

My apologies for the gender alienation. We really like what you all are doing and hope to create something just as fun!
Campbell Pepper Pot Soup is made in Canda. I recently
bought 10 cans for $2.50 a can at Acme Stores in South
Jersey. I am originally from Philly. Pepper Pot was a staple back then. Harry
I didn’t realize that people ate it with regularity. I thought it was just something that you’d feed to wounded vets. Thanks for the comment, Harry.
